Au XIXe siècle, M. de Lépinay fait planter autour de l‘étang des essences rares comme des cyprès chauves et des orangers des Aussages qu’il a ramenés d’Amérique centrale.
The castle was mentioned in 1451 as being the property of Lord Louis de Chazerat. With the passing of time, the castle lost its fortress appearance, and the moat was turned into ponds. In the 19th century, Mr de Lépinay had rare trees planted around the lake. These included Bald Cyprus and Aussages orange trees that he had brought back from Central America.
